~ next squad ~

~ Shippensburg University ~

Located in Pennsylvania, the Shippensburg twirlers perform in the halftime show for the football team. They also march in two to three local parades. In addition, there is a possibility of twirling during basketball season during halftime, and a possibility to travel. We compete in the intercollegiate marching band festival in Pennsylvania.

The squad twirls one and two batons, and is working up to three batons. They also use glow batons.
Skills that are expected include:

  • toss illusions
  • three spins
  • elbow rolls
  • fish
  • vertical fingers
  • horizontal fingers

Our squad works together as a team and gets along very well. We come up with our own money to buy warmups, t-shirts, and sweatshirts to stay warm. Friendship is a main key and we welcome all twirlers of caliber.

For tryouts, each girl must come up with their own 2-5 minute solo routine to the music of their choice. The routine must incorporate all the moves they are capable of doing and must include two baton skills as well. After the routine, the captain will teach and ask canidates to perform a group routine.
