The past couple of years the auditions for feature twirler have been held in May/June. Twirlers choose their own music approx 4-6 min long. It is strongly recommended that canidates do 1, 2, & 3 baton. Gymnastics are a plus but aren't required. The girls tryout one at a time with their own choreographed routine, in their own costume. Tryouts are normally held outdoors unless the weather is bad. |
Twirlers don't get any scholarships, but the band does award members who participate multiple years throughout college. A stipend for 2nd 3rd and 4th year returning members is given. It's not a lot, but it helps to pay the bills, or at least get some books for the semester.For more information visit the Rutgers University Band Site.
