Twirlers perform at all home football games, and at least one away game per
year. There are several parades in the San Luis Obispo area that they are also
expected to perform in (Homecoming Parade, Mardi Gras Parade, etc.)

Band Camp is usually held in early September. If someone is
interested in joining the team, they need to contact the band in advance and
sign up for camp. Camp is a time for us to find out about you, and you to find
out about us. There is no formal audition.

California Polytechnic typically has two feature twirlers. Each twirler is positioned on a different side of the band and performs her own routine. They coordinate parade routines.
Our team is unique because we work very closely with a large guard,
and even get the chance to perform with them at times, using flags, rifles, and
sabres. Also, during the winter, we combine with the guard to form a winter
guard team. (It's a great way to learn about different equipment and to work
with a large team, while still being a solo twirler.)
