Try-outs consist of a Twirl/Dance Twirl Routine, Strutting, and new routines. Judging is based on:
- Appearance
- Twirling/Dance Routine (technical ability)
- Strutting
- Gracefulness
- Showmanship
Featured Twirler tryouts will immediately follow majorette line selection. The public may observe from gym bleachers. Featured twirler applicants will be judged on variety and difficulty of routine, coordination, appearance, gracefulness, twirling/dancing techniques, posture, originality, showmanship, and audience appeal.

Attending the twirling camp is an excellent way to prepare for UT majorette auditions. You will have the opportunity to meet and twirl with the current majorettes and learn "the bird." Levels include: Beginner, Intermediate A, Intermediate B and Advanced. The camp also includes the possiblity of Private Lessons, a Talent Show, a Camp Performance Program, and the chance to become a UT twirler for a day! Find out more information on the camp. |
