There is only one twirler for UCLA, the "Golden Girl", who is selected by the band director. The Golden Girl is usually featured for one song during half-time, but performs during the entire show. Veena Goel also performs during pre-game. She twirls one, two and three batons. |
Veena Goel, is the feature twirler for UCLA. The UCLA Bruin Marching Band boasts 250 members, performing in front of 100,000 fans. In addition, the band travels to the San Francisco Bay Area to perform at either the Stanford or Cal game. The band also takes trips to Ohio State, Texas, Miami, Michigan, Arizona, Washington, Arizona State and San Diego State. The Bruin Band has also been seen performing at the Mirage Bowl in Tokyo, the Liberty Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, the Sun Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, the Aloha Bowl and the Rose Bowl.
